Dear Ukrainian newcomers!

You are starting your new life in Vancouver or other cities throughout British Columbia. Those first steps are always the hardest without any support. Canadian settlement agencies have amazing programs to support you, as well as attentive and enthusiastic Ukrainian and Russian-speaking support workers, that will guide you and assist you with the following issues:

 

Application and enrollment for Medical Services Plan (MSP) for the residents of British Columbia, application for Social Insurance Number (SIN), necessary for employment, as well as applications for BC ID (identification cards) and application for the provincial financial assistance (6 months Hardship assistance through the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.

 

  • Job search - resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation

  • Verification of immigration documents ( Visitor Visa, Work Permit Extension, Family sponsorship and etc)

  • Registration for English classes through the LINC program

  • English conversation circles to improve conversational English

  • Volunteer programs for gaining Canadian work experience

  • Women support group

  • Program for youth ages 14 to 24 - Youth Hub

  • Info sessions and workshops

  • Postsecondary education, intensive English courses, career guidance consultations
